Upon analysing the Reds’ best starting line-up for next term, Johnson believes new signing Darwin Nunez deserves to get his chance from the start – but thinks Kostas Tsimikas will have to be content with his role as Andy Robertson’s deputy.
“[For Liverpool’s front three] I would go with [Luis] Diaz, [Mohamed] Salah and I would probably start with Nunez,” he said.
Johnson then added: “No, [Tsimikas cannot take Robertson’s starting spot] at the moment. Tsimikas is a good player but Robertson fits Liverpool’s style of play, so Tsimikas will be a back-up for now.”
