Fulham may consider themselves unfortunate to have lost to their West London rivals Chelsea at the weekend, and they fought well considering they had to play over half the game with 10-men.
Scott Parker praised his side’s spirit in defeat, and it’s that spirit that has made them so difficult to beat recently, with that their first defeat since they faced Man City at the beginning of December.
Man United played out a dire 0-0 draw with Liverpool in what was a much anticipated clash in the title race, and although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were defensively sound on the day they’ll need to show more of an attacking threat against this improved Fulham side, and their record this season would suggest they will have enough to get over the line.
Indeed, excluding the traditional ‘Big Six’ sides and Leicester, the Red Devils have gone W11-D0-L1 this season winning all six of their matches against the current bottom-seven so far.
However, only one of those victories came by more than a single strike so we wouldn’t expect them to take their hosts to the cleaners here, despite being the top away scorers in the league.
You can’t help but feel that Fulham could have easily got something from their game at the weekend should they have kept 11 men on the pitch, and even without Antonee Robinson in the line-up they should put up a good fight.
Although the Cottagers have conceded 10 goals in the three games that Robinson hasn’t started this season (compared to just 15 in 14 that he has), though three games all came at the beginning of the season when there were still some teething issues for Parker’s men, and we’d expect the American’s loss not to have that much of a significant effect.

Fulham have been defensively sound of late, conceding just four goals in their last seven outings across all competitions, despite playing all of Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Southampton in that time, and that has led to their last eight games all seeing a maximum of just two strikes.
That’s also been the case with Man United’s last four games across all competitions, as they’ve seen an average of just one goal per game since New Year’s Day.
