With the dreams of the World Cup coming to an end, the time is now upon us to resume to normality and indulge ourselves back into Premier League gossip.
English fans are now back in a state of limbo, waiting for August 10th to come over the horizon, so broken dreams of the Three Lions can be forgotten and new club dreams can begin.
Below we have outlined some season outright bets for you to consider for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
2018/19 Premier League Winner
Favourite – Manchester City
At 4/6 Manchester City are the current favourites to lift the trophy for a second consecutive year and based on last season it’s not hard to see why.
The Sky Blues were hailed as one of the greatest Premier League sides in history by many after smashing 11 records during their title-winning season. Pep’s men managed the most points, goals and wins in a season, as well as clinching the title at the earliest ever point.
With Riyad Mahrez now added to the fold, City’s strength in depth in the upcoming season will be second to none, surely making them the deadliest force once more.
Challenger – Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp has made his intentions clear by spending over £160m on three players during this transfer window. Keita, Fabinho and Alisson have all been added to the mix to help give Liverpool stability in defence and creativity going forward.
After their impressive run in the Champions League last season, the Reds will be eager to build on that platform and with player of the year Mohamed Salah still in the equation, anything is possible. We make Liverpool a good bet to win the league here at 9/2.
Premier League Relegation
Favourite – Cardiff City
There is a reason that England is said to have the best leagues in the world, owing to their competitiveness and high standard of play, making it near impossible to predict who will be relegated before the season begins.
The newcomers are never far from contention however and this year it is Cardiff City who have the honour of calling themselves underdogs. At 7/10 they are current favourites to go down, due to their slightly weaker squad strength and playing style.
Possibility – Everton
Everton seemed to massively struggle last season, failing to find both consistency and flair in their play. In addition, the Toffees’ top scorer and arguably most creative player, Wayne Rooney, has made his move to the MLS, leaving Marco Silva with a big hole to fill.
If Everton start the new season in similar fashion, they no longer have Rooney to rely on to bail them out with goals, so may struggle to stay afloat. They are 33/1 to go down here.
Premier League Top Scorer
Favourite – Harry Kane
The Spurs man recently added the World Cup Golden Boot to his ever growing collection of goal scoring awards after netting six times for England over the Summer.
He not only has the form but also history on his side, as he has also won the Premier League Golden Boot twice before in the 2015/16 and 16/17 seasons. We have him at 2/1 to claim the honour once again.
Challenger – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Even though he only arrived with the Gunners back in January, the ex-Dortmund star still managed to bag himself ten goals, averaging a goal every 106 minutes, impressive.
If the goal poaching pro can carry that form into the coming season he will most certainly be a contender for this year’s Golden Boot. We make him a good bet at 13/2.
