This promises to be an absolute cracker of a series, kicking off at Trent Bridge this week as England look to bounce back and muster up a win on home soil following their series defeat to New Zealand here.

The 3-1 series defeat in India the last time these sides met was in conditions very much suited to the hosts’ spin attack, and in these more seam friendly conditions, this should be a more level playing field.

While England have arguably the best pace attack in test cricket, a few notable absentees may just hinder their progress throughout this series, with Ben Stokes taking an indefinite leave from the game and Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes unavailable through injury.

They still have the experienced duo of Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson though, and they could cause a lot of issues for this India batting line-up.

India Draw No Bet

On balance, India look to have the more vigorous batting attack, with Virat Kohli desperate to get a win on English soil for the first time in 14 years for this Indian side, while KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane will provide a lot of cover should India’s captain fail to live up to the billing.

The same can’t be said of England’s top order, though, with a lot of the pressure falling on Joe Root and even though Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow are there, a lack of experience in general for this host side may just prove to be their undoing.

Ben Stokes is a massive loss for the hosts, and we can see them struggling against this very dangerous India side, though with the weather potentially being a hindrance here, the draw no bet provides that safety blanket.
