“If he is confident then he'll stay with four at the back and he won't change his system.
“France are sure that they won't change anything, so that can make the difference as well.
“France's win and performance against Poland was really good because now France will have that confidence going into the quarter-final. In their minds, no one is going to stop them.
“If England play with three or four at the back, the result will be the same.
“A lot of people are saying England will qualify but I think France will definitely win.”
Backing French Defence
Gallas dismissed any concerns about France’s own defence, despite losing Presnel Kimpembe to injury on the eve of the tournament and star centre-back Raphael Varane only just recovering in time to feature.
The former Arsenal star has admitted that right-back was previously seen as an area of concern, but has full faith in Jules Kounde.
“I'm more worried about the English defence than the French defence,” he said.
“We've had some injuries, but if you compare the recent games, France have been better defensively.
“Especially Raphael Varane, he plays in the Premier League so he knows all the players he'll play against in the England team.
“France have never had that quality right-back, we've always had a problem on that side.
“Now we have players like Jules Kounde who can play right-back. France will have to be careful on that side against the English attack.”
