Recent Form

Celtic claimed a win in their first game under caretaker John Kennedy, though the 1-0 scoreline over an out-of-form Aberdeen side hardly set the pulses racing.

The Hoops don’t have anything left to play for other than pride, but a return of six wins from seven outings since the start of February suggests they should slug it out to some more positive results.

The visitors will at least be motivated to prevent Rangers taking their crown before the Old Firm derby later this month, but having scored just twice in three games, they’re unlikely to rack up a big score.

They’ll take encouragement from a pair of victories over Dundee Utd already this season, accompanied by clean sheets, as they triumphed 1-0 here at Tannadice Park back in August and 3-0 on home turf at the end of December.

Dundee Utd were soundly beaten 4-1 by Rangers at Ibrox in their penultimate outing and were restricted to a draw away at Kilmarnock last time, with their hosts that day easily the division’s worst side on current form having lost their previous eight matches.

Kilmarnock registered their first goal in just over 570 minutes in that clash and actually dominated the game, as Dundee Utd missed an opportunity to close the gap on sixth-placed St. Mirren.

+1 Handicap Draw

Micky Mellon’s side were poor going forwards against Kilmarnock, but Adrian Sporle’s opener in the 1-1 stalemate does continue a strong scoring record.

They’ve netted in each of their last five appearances now, with that recent strike against Rangers making them just the second side to breach the runaway leader’s backline at Ibrox this season.

In fact, Dundee Utd have failed to score in just one of their past nine at this venue, as they bagged two or more goals in over half of these.

Still, the hosts are just W2-D5-L5 since Christmas and although two of those wins came in February, versus Ross County and Livingston, they’ve lost four of their past seven appearances as they’ve slipped into the bottom half of the table.

Their ability to find the net should help them keep things tight though, and they’ve only lost by more than a single goal in two of 15 home games this term.

Four of Celtic’s past five victories have come by one-goal margins, and they look set for another low-key win here.

+1 Handicap Draw At 13/5
