Despite this being top vs bottom in the table at the moment, this is anything but a mismatch. On their day, Jonny Bairstow and David Warner are two of the best opening batsmen in world cricket, though they are yet to fully click this season, resulting in successive defeats to open the campaign.
Both have been out for single figures already this season meaning they are yet to put on a formidable partnership, though with the Capitals’ bowling attack to contend with, they’d do well to form a partnership here.
Kagiso Rabada’s five wickets is the most from anyone who’s only played two matches this season, while Axar Patel’s economy rate of 4.00 is the best in the IPL. In fact, Patel, Rabada, Amit Mishra and Anrich Nortje all have an economy below seven, with no other side having more than two.
Delhi Capitals To Win
Historically, the head-to-heads have gone the way for the Sunrisers, though the two most recent meetings last season fit the current trend and have seen the Capitals come up trumps.
We don’t expect an incredibly high scoring encounter, with neither side in the last 15 meetings reaching 200 runs, with the highest score from any of the six innings last season being 165 from the Capitals in the most recent clash.
While ‘Unders’ could hold some value on this surface, the Capitals look the best bet to win and we’re inclined to get behind them to extend their winning run at the start of this season.
