The Super Kings failed to follow up on their impressive start to the season when they beat the defending champions Mumbai Indians in a repeat of last year’s final, by losing to the Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday.

Faf du Plessis made a strong 72 off just 37 deliveries in an attempt to claw the game back after Steve Smith and co. posted a whopping 216, though eventually fell short of that total.

Marcus Stoinis inspired the Delhi Capitals to a Super Over victory in their opener on Sunday. The Aussie all rounder posted 53 with a strike rate of 252.38 to turn the game in his sides favour after they fell to 13/3, while he also posted figures of 2/29 with the ball to follow on a from a strong one day series against England, and he could be the difference again here.

It wasn’t just Stoinis who was impressive with the ball, as Kagiso Rabada was phenomenal in the Super Over last time out, limiting KXIP to just two runs from it, and his battle with MS Dhoni this time round could be where the tie is won and lost.

Dhoni has been criticised for coming in too late in their previous match, and we’d expect to see him in a little earlier than seven. He managed three sixes in the final over, though the match was effectively lost by then anyway.

Chennai To Beat Delhi

All things considered, we’d have to give the Super Kings the edge in this one. Despite their loss last time out, they still managed to post a whopping 200 on the board.

There will be question marks surrounding their bowling attack, though with the likes of Smith and Sanju Samson at the other end, they can be forgiven and we’d expect them to get back to winning ways here.
