CHELSEA, AJAX AND DORTMUND ALL TO WIN MAX BET £10
Recent Form
Group H has proven extremely competitive with Chelsea, Valencia and Ajax all still vying for top spot, with none of those sides guaranteed a knockout place yet ahead of the final round of fixtures.
Lille are dead and buried as far as Europe is concerned this season with just one point registered on the board, and Chelsea will know that a victory here will guarantee them either first or second place, depending on what happens in the other game.
This may not be the most opportune moment to face the French outfit however, with Lille putting together consecutive victories for the first time this season across all competitions, beating Dijon, Lyon and Brest all by 1-0 scorelines.
Despite this though, their contrasting displays home and away (especially in Europe) will offer Chelsea some serious encouragement.
At the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille have lost 2-1 and 2-0 to Chelsea and Ajax respectively, as well as securing a draw with Valencia courtesy of a 95th-minute consolation effort.
However, away from home they’ve suffered heavier defeats by three-goal margins against both Ajax and Valencia, while across all competitions they’re just W1-D2-L7 on their travels this season.
Chelsea -1.75 Asian Handicap
It’s not hard to see why Chelsea are at such a short price then, though their own form has taken a downwards turn in recent weeks.
The Blues are just W1-D1-L3 over their last five in all competitions, and though the first two of these games saw them lose narrowly to Man City and draw on the road at Valencia, defeats to struggling outfits West Ham and Everton within their last three fixtures has to be of concern.
Nonetheless, we expect the hosts to take the spoils. Excluding PSG, who are head and shoulders above their domestic competition, French sides are just W6-D1-L20 away to English sides in European competition since 2006/07.
They failed to score in 15 of those defeats, while of the 13 losses over the past decade, 10 saw them lose by at least two goals and six saw them go down by a minimum of three.
Given Chelsea have won by at least two goals in six of eight home wins in Europe since 2017/18, and by three or more in over half, they look a solid proposition on the Asian handicap.
Chelsea -1.75 Asian Handicap At 17/20
