Champions League Quarter Finals - First Leg Betting Preview

Fans boasting the Premier League’s superiority have once again had to put their tails between their legs as for the fourth consecutive season, La Liga has had more teams reach the quarter final stage than any other European league.

It’s not all doom and gloom however, as the Premier League will have a guaranteed spot at the semi-final stage of the competition through the victor of Liverpool vs Manchester City.

Excusing Juventus, the now underdogs of the tournament Roma, are the first Italian team to reach the quarter-final stage of the tournament since A.C. Milan all the way back in the 2011/12 season. Get them to cause an upset and win the tournament here at 66/1.

Each quarter final match has the potential to be one to remember, as there an upset on the cards for each and every one. Sevilla, Juventus, Roma and Liverpool will all go in to their ties as underdogs but have all shown they are more than capable of upsetting the status quo.

Liverpool vs Manchester City

This game is being described by most as the one to watch. Manchester City have been able to boast a fantastic campaign so far - only losing once in the Premier League this season.

The sole team to beat them, however… Liverpool. Klopp’s men are the only ones this season who have found the answer to City’s play; beating them 4-3 in a thrilling match back in January.

Both sides possess extremely talented and prolific attacking players, so there should without a doubt be goals for both sides, making this tie likely to be a truly great spectacle. Get Liverpool to win and both teams to score here at footballing betting odds of 7/2.

Juventus vs Real Madrid

For Juventus fans, it’s Déjà vu all over again. With the nightmare Champions League final loss from last season still fresh in the memory, it’s hard to know whether Allegri’s men will be happy with the draw to seek revenge, or terrified in case Ronaldo’s men cause embarrassment once again.

Juventus struggled at times against Spurs. Meanwhile, Ronaldo and Real Madrid finally found some form in the previous stage, so it’s hard to look past Real Madrid qualifying to the semi-final stage.

However, with the first leg taking place at the Allianz Stadium, Juve’s fans will be out in full force and will expect their team to hold nothing back. With players like Dybala stepping up to the plate recently, they should be able to make a tie of it. Get them to win the first leg here at 9/5.

Barcelona vs Roma

Barcelona are still boasting an unbeaten season this year in La Liga while Roma have lost six so far in their campaign. Messi and co. eased past English champions Chelsea in the last round of the tournament (4-1 on aggregate) while Roma had to rely on the ‘away goals’ rule to send them through to the quarters.

Currently, Barcelona are favourites to lift the trophy and it’s hard to look past them in this tie, especially at home, where their form this season has been phenomenal. Get them to cruise to 1st leg victory here at 1/4.

Sevilla vs Bayern Munich

Both teams came out of their previous fixtures as deserved winners. Bayern Munich thrashed Besiktas (8-1 on aggregate) which Sevilla were able to come up with the goods when it mattered at Old Trafford to move past Man United.

Before they meet on the 3rd April, both clubs have massive league games to consider with Sevilla facing Barcelona and Bayern facing Dortmund.

The respective managers need to make sure they get their tactics and selections right, to ensure they have the best chance of reaching the UCL semi-finals. Get Bayern to get their tactics spot on and win the first leg here at 8/11.
