Rangers’ draw with Aberdeen afforded Celtic the opportunity to pull two points clear in the title race and they should feel confident of either maintaining or extending that advantage at the weekend.
Going into this game they’ve won 13 of 15 league matches this term, lifted a fourth consecutive League Cup, while they’ve also topped their Europa League group to boot.
Unsurprisingly, they’ve been imperious on home turf as they’ve won each of their last 12 at Celtic Park across all competitions since late August.
Having netted at least twice in all of these and a minimum three times in half, while simultaneously keeping seven clean sheets as they never conceded more than once, it’s no wonder the bookies can’t look past the home win.
However, although we don’t expect the visitors to get any points from this game, they do visit Glasgow in the best form they’ve produced all season and should feel disappointed if they don’t at least make Celtic sweat.
Hibs made a horrendous start to the season and though they stemmed the tide under Paul Heckingbottom by drawing his final five league games, they’ve since won four of their last six matches with either caretaker Eddie May or permanent appointment Jack Ross at the helm.

Most impressively, Hibs put three without replay past Aberdeen last time out as they demonstrated their attacking prowess, and in fact only the current top three sides in the table have outscored them this season.
That clean sheet against the Dons was unusual however, with only three teams having conceded more, with Rangers even putting six past them when they visited the Ibrox.
As a consequence, prior to that win over Aberdeen, both teams had found the net in each of their previous 11 matches across competitions, including both clashes with Celtic themselves this season.
They managed a 1-1 stalemate at Easter Road and caused the Hoops’ backline more trouble than they usually receive as they went down 5-2 at Hampden Park in the League Cup.
Given they’ve scored at least twice in in all but one of their past nine games now, Hibs should at least be aiming to grab a consolation effort if not make Celtic work for the full three points.
