Celtic haven’t allowed success on the European stage to distract them from maintaining domestic dominance, even if Rangers are right on their coattails.
They’ve now won 10 on the bounce across all competitions since the October international break, netting at least four goals in half of these, and they’ll want to make it 11 in a row ahead of an Old Firm derby at the weekend in the League Cup Final.
That task shouldn’t prove too difficult for them. Hamilton are on a dire run of form that’s seen them win just one of their last 14 across all tournaments.
However, although they only lost six of these in 90 minutes, they suffered defeats in all three encounters with either Celtic or Rangers by a combined score of 9-1.
In fact, the visitors have lost 20 of 22 fixtures against the Old Firm duo since 2016/17, while they trailed at both half-time and full-time in 18 of these including each of the past eight.

With such great disparity between the two sides, it’s no surprise to see the hosts start as such short-priced favourites.
Hamilton have conceded at least once during the first half in 12 of their 15 matches this season, while Celtic have led at both half-time and full-time in five of their last six, and so the half-time/full-time market is banker material that can be used to boost any accas.
Excluding encounters with Italian outfit Lazio (who are currently third in Serie A) and fourth-placed Motherwell domestically, Celtic have scored at least three times in six of their last seven matches and four or more in five of them.
Given only two sides have shipped more goals than Hamilton in the Premiership this season, we’d expect the Hoops to match or better the higher threshold.

When also considering that Neil Lennon’s men have shipped just one goal in six league matches and possess the joint-best defensive record in the division alongside Rangers, they ought to keep a clean sheet here.
Indeed, Hamilton didn’t even manage a single shot on target in their drab stalemate with Livingston at the weekend, while they’ve drawn a blank in six of their last seven encounters with the Old Firm duo.
With a high output at one end while closing the shutters at the other, Celtic should feel confident of covering a healthy handicap.
