LIVERPOOL, WEST HAM AND SPURS ALL TO WIN AT 9/4!
Recent Form
After a spell where Liverpool lost six of eight matches in all competitions starting in February, they’ve since gone W7-D3-L1, as only Real Madrid got the better of them in Spain.
They’ve also been performing better on their travels, where they’ve now won five of six unbeaten league games.
By contrast, Burnley had lost just once in seven appearances prior to April, but have since lost five of seven matches, including a punishing 4-0 defeat hosting Leeds last time out.
The Clarets have ultimately done their job this term by staying in the division, but they’ve hardly downed tools with their defeat to Marcelo Bielsa’s men the first time in 10 appearances where they’d failed to score.
Liverpool To Win And Both Teams To Score
Liverpool are still struggling to manage clean sheets, perhaps unsurprisingly given the injuries they’ve endured this term, with just four from their past 18 league matches.
Both teams have scored in five of their last six, as the likes of West Brom, Newcastle and an Aston Villa side missing talisman Jack Grealish all managed to register against them.
It remains to be seen what defensive unit Klopp picks, as with Ozan Kabak also out injured, he’s utilized a partnership of Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips in the centre for their past three games.
The latter might be a monster in the air, but not so much the former, who will undoubtedly be targeted by Burnley via the long ball should Fabinho remain in midfield.
Chris Wood has been in unbelievable form of late for the hosts here, with eight goals and three assists from nine appearances, and is sure to make life difficult for the young centre-half with his imposing physicality.
Burnley are W2-D2-L5 against Liverpool since 2016/17, but the Reds triumphed by a two-goal margin or greater in just a third of these games, while only once did they manage a three-goal difference.
They’ve avoided defeat in the last two encounters, even winning the reverse fixture this term, and although Liverpool may well get the victory they crave, it’s likely to be hard work rather than a saunter in the park.
Liverpool conceded in four of those five head-to-head victories, so the away win and both teams to score appeals.
