Mikel Arteta will hope he has his turning point following a commanding victory over Chelsea at the Emirates. Tammy Abraham’s late consolation couldn’t hide the manner in which Arsenal out-played and crucially out-fought their opponents, though the Gunners still have plenty of convincing to do.

Arsenal remain mired in the bottom six of the table, having lost over half their matches this season, while only the bottom four sides have scored fewer goals this season.

The win over Chelsea was their first in eight league games, with the Gunners a desperately poor W2-D2-L7 from 11 outings since the October international break.

Graham Potter’s men have also found maximum points hard to come by, and across all competitions, they’ve gone a rather uncompetitive W1-D7-L6 since late September.

Aside from a 1-1 draw hosting Liverpool a month ago, they’ve typically lost to the other top outfits they’ve faced this term with Man Utd (twice), Chelsea, Everton, Tottenham, Southampton and Leicester all inflicting defeats on them.

Both Teams To Score

Brighton continue to be porous at set-pieces, though that’s not the Gunners’ main strength and we’d be wary of backing Arteta’s men to claim back-to-back victories just yet, having last achieved that feat in September.

It’s also worth bearing in mind Brighton’s fantastic record in this fixture in recent times. They’ve won three of five unbeaten encounters since 2018, with each of these finishing 2-1 or 1-1, including a pair of victories last term as they did the double.

With both teams scoring in each of the past five head to heads, that market certainly holds some interest here. 10 of the Seagull’s last 13 league matches have seen that bet land, including tussles with the likes of Man Utd, Everton, Spurs and Liverpool as they’ve demonstrated an ability to net past quality opposition.

Indeed, they also scored on the opening day hosting Chelsea, while both teams have now scored in each of Arsenal’s last three outings.

Although Tariq Lamptey and Adam Lallana remain sidelined for the hosts, Arteta isn’t without problems either.

The defence is weakened by the absence of summer signing Gabriel Magalhaes, while fellow centre-back David Luiz and versatile attacker Willian are both major doubts through illness. Still, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was back on the bench against Chelsea and should return to the starting line-up here, as could Nicolas Pepe, so Arsenal’s output should start to improve.

Both Teams To Score (Yes) At 4/5
