Brighton have come into some home form in recent weeks, winning each of their last three such games against Spurs, Everton and Norwich, while scoring eight goals in the process. Although Leicester have been in blistering form, the Seagulls are definitely no pushovers.
Many are now starting to group the midlands side in with the so called ‘Big Six’, and rightly to considering they sit in 2nd place behind unbeaten Liverpool and a whopping 12 places above North London outfit Spurs, so they definitely warrant respect.
Indeed, the Foxes have won eight of their last 10 games, with the exceptions against Man Utd and Liverpool, as Brendan Rodgers continues to excel in the role.
However, they have dropped points in half of their away games so far this season and six of the 11 trips since the Northern Irishman took the reins, as it’s their home form that has been particularly impressive.

Interestingly, both these sides have been far more productive in terms of output during the second half. Of the host’s 15 league goals, only five have come before the break, and two of these came here against Spurs.
Despite scoring the second most goals in the league (29) behind reigning champions Man City (35), only 10 of Leicester’s goals have come in the first half, including five in that 9-0 thrashing at St Mary’s.
A low-scoring opening period is very much on the cards, and we’re happy to plug with a 0-0 at a good price considering that’s been the outcome in 50% of Brighton’s first periods this season, while it’s occurred in both of Leicester’s last two outings.
However, this isn’t to say there won’t be goals in this game overall with the array of attacking talent that will be on display.
The league’s top scorer Jamie Vardy will undoubtedly have his chances here, while Neal Maupay has had more shots per game than any player outside the ‘Big Six’, so he could well add to his four goal tally this weekend.
However, both players look relatively short for this one, though one player stands out from the crowd at longer odds.

Excluding strikers and wingers, James Maddison is the league’s joint-top scorer alongside Mason Mount, with four goals and two assists to his name, while he’s also scored in both cup appearances to date against Burton Albion and Newcastle.
His three shots per game is very encouraging when compared to his long price, so we’re happy to have a small punt on the England International finding the net.
