South Africa’s head coach Rassie Erasmus made 13 changes to his side when they demolished Italy 49-3 to effectively end any slight chance the Azzurri had from qualifying from this Pool B.
Indeed, Erasmus has rung the changes again making another 13 for his side’s final group game against Canada, with the inclusion of full-back Damian Willemse on the starting team sheet after he was called up less than a week ago to replace injured Jesse Kriel, so he’ll be champing at the bit to get going in this one.

Excluding Namibia, who have a notoriously terrible record when taking on the top teams, the Southern Hemisphere side’s 64-0 victory over the USA in the previous edition of this cup is the only win by over 49 points in their last 13 such outings, and with five-eighth Elton Jantjies having a seemingly off day against the Namibians, we can see Canada making it a slightly tighter game of it in Kobe than the market suggests.
Damian Willemse To Score Anytime
The Canadians only have one try to their name so far this tournament, so their realistic goal for this clash will be to register another one against a weaker than usual Springbok side, though we don’t see them providing too much off a threat to the whitewash over the 80 mins and we’ll look for South African try scorers for this one.
Twenty-one-year-old Willemse will be looking to lay down a marker in his first start this World Cup after recovering from injury. He’s been impressing for Sarries since his return and we back him to score anytime.
