Although this is a dead rubber game with Bayern having already topped the group and Spurs having secured second place, the visitors will be keen to banish the memory of the 7-2 annihilation they suffered in the reverse fixture.

Given there’s no need for either coach to show caution in their tactics with their respective group standings already decided, we see no reason for this match to deviate from that path.

High-scoring games are bread and butter stuff for Bayern, who have seen a minimum of four strikes in over half of their 22 matches in all competitions this season, including nine of the past 15 as all but one of them saw at least three goals.
Each of Mourinho’s five games at the helm have breached that lower threshold, with four of them witnessing five or more, while all five of Spurs’ games in this tournament during the current campaign have seen a minimum of four goals.
In fact, these two teams have the highest outputs in the Champion League across the groups this season, so we’re strapped in for another goals bonanza.
The likelihood of that occurring is raised by injuries Bayern have been enduring at the back, with centre-back options Niklas Sule and Lucas Hernandez unavailable, while Jerome Boateng is unlikely to be risked.
The hosts will have to make do with a pairing of the ageing Javi Martinez and utility man David Alaba, meaning rookie winger Alphonso Davies (who can be suspect defensively) will have to fill in at left-back again.
