Aussie Injury Concerns

It’s been a fantastic series between these two great cricketing nations, with the limited overs games finishing tied at 1-1 and this Test series serving as the decider.

The hosts have some injury concerns to contend with, not least wit David Warner at the top of the order, though young gun Cameron Green is likely to come in to replace him as long as he’s declared fit to play.

Matthew Wade will then push up to the top of the order to partner either Joe Burns or Marcus Harris, with Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith following in behind, and it’s with those two that this Test is likely to be won or lost.

Crucial Kohli

Virat Kohli will only be featuring in this Test which will be a huge blow for the Indians if they weren’t to pick up a result here.

However, the strength in their batting line up should not be overlooked even when their skipper leaves, with Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw likely to open the batting with Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane more than capable of filling the void.

This will certainly be a batting pitch as bowlers may struggle to find much movement without the new ball.

Therefore, the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood will have to make full use of the new ball when available if they want to topple this India side as they remain the more formidable pace attack, while Nathan Lyon is up ther with the best off-spin bowlers in the world and could become very handy on days four and five.

Australia To Beat India

Amazingly, India have won 13 of their last 16 Test series when not including one off matches and the ICC World Test Championship, though what works against them is this is only their second ever pink-ball day and night Test match, while the Australians definitely have that experience on their side.

This will be the 15th edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with the Indians currently leading the head-to-head 8-5, with one series drawn, though in Australia that record flips on its head with the visitors winning just one of the six series.

Despite a couple of injuries, Australia still look to have a very strong side and if Smith and Labuschagne can live up to the billing, then the likes of Starc and Cummins should have enough to see this through on home soil.
