Recent Form

Following the success for Arsenal at the King Power Stadium at the weekend, where we saw Mikel Arteta’s men score two early goals and then cling on for rest of the 2nd half to see out their fourth clean sheet of the Premier league season, the Gunners will look to carry on their streak of nine unbeaten games in all competitions by getting a victory at the Emirates on Sunday.

Since the sacking of Xisco Munoz, Claudio Ranieri has been able to show a new and improved Watford. Although they may have lost 1-0 to Southampton on the weekend and 5-0 in his opening game against the in-form Liverpool, they will still be feeling the effects of the 5-2 victory against Everton. Where they came from 2-1 down to score four goals in 13 minutes.

Since the start of the 16/17 season, when Arsenal have played newly promoted teams at home, they are yet to lose (W12-D4).

However, they have only managed to keep seven clean sheets throughout those 16 games, once again highlighting some of the glaring defensive issues that Arsenal have had for a few years now.

Kieran Tierney doesn’t look like he will be returning anytime soon which could be a blow for the Gunners, but with Nuno Tavares hitting a good spell of form recently Mikel Arteta won’t need to worry too much.

Arsenal To Win And Both Teams To Score

The Hale End’er Emile Smith-Rowe has been a shining light for Arsenal this season, he seems to inject confidence in the players around him with his skill and work rate.

To show how important he has been since joining the side early last year, Arsenal score 59% more goals whenever he starts the game, extremely impressive given his tender age.

In the Premier league Watford have only managed two wins out of a possible 14 games against the North London side since the beginning of the 99/00 season, conceding 32 goals from these games and only scoring 12.

Watford are currently sitting down in 16th in the league and have only won twice out of their last nine games in all competitions.

Emmanuel Dennis has returned from his one-match ban and will be hoping to get back on the score sheet after scoring three goals in his first nine appearances, but he may be out of luck considering his teammate Joshua King recently scored a hattrick against his old club.

Arsenal have looked more confident since their shocking start to the season and with Rainieri not having enough time to have put a plan in place I am going to recommend that Arsenal and both teams to score is a good value bet, considering the hosts’ have conceded in nine of their last 16 home outings with promoted sides.

PREDICTION:

ARSENAL TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
