Is there anyone that can stop Man City at the moment? There’s little sign of it and if they keep playing the way they are, it’s difficult to see where or how anyone is going to topple them.
Both of Pep Guardiola’s longest winning streaks at Barcelona and Bayern were ended against Arsenal, though that’s more of a nice narrative for Gunners fans rather than an incentive to get behind the hosts on this occasion.
Arsenal currently sit 10th in the league, though could drop into the bottom half by the time this game gets underway if Leeds were to take maximum points at Molineux.
Their draw with Benfica on Thursday means they’ve won just one of their last five matches in all competitions, losing to both Wolves and Aston Villa by narrow margins in the league, and you get the sense that defeat here would leave European football next season more or less out of the picture.

Mikel Arteta’s side have a poor W3-D1-L7 record against sides above them in the table this season, failing to even find the net in three of their five such home games which doesn’t bode well against a side as defensively sound as City.
The Manchester club have a remarkable W15-D2-L1 record against sides outside the top six this season and have conceded just three times across their current 12 match winning run.
It should be noted, though, that all three of those goals came on the road, and all came to current top half sides in Chelsea, Liverpool, and Everton.
In fact, of their eight away matches against the current top-12 in the table Man City have only managed a single clean sheet, which came in their dire 0-0 stalemate at Old Trafford, so we certainly wouldn’t rule out an Arsenal strike here.
This will be the first league meeting between these two managers at the Emirates, and although Guardiola came out on top in both meetings at the Etihad, with both wins coming to nil, the meeting here in the quarter-finals of the League Cup is more the sort of scoreline we’d expect, with the Citizens running out 4-1 winners that day, so the match result and both teams to score market looking the healthiest price.
Sergio Aguero To Score Anytime
The fitness boosts of Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero are only going to help the visitors’ cause in this game, and if the Argentine was to start here have been an unused sub in City’s last two outings, we’d back him to hit the ground running.
He’s got 11 career goals in as many games against the Gunners, only scoring more against Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs and he’s certainly got enough quality to add to that tally.
