Recent Form

The Gunners are now unbeaten in four across all competitions, though a note of caution should be applied given the opposition they’ve faced.

Two of these fixtures came in Europe as they drew at home to Slavia Prague before completing the job in the Czech Republic, while domestically they overcame a now relegated Sheffield Utd and drew with a Fulham side that look destined to join the Blades in the Championship next term.

Even that latest outing saw them rely upon Eddie Nketiah’s strike seven minutes into stoppage time, with the stalemate leaving them winless in four at the Emirates.

Everton can’t boast fantastic form either as they’ve now failed to win in six appearances across all competitions, though two of their three defeats over this period came against Chelsea and Man City, while they’ve drawn each of their past three outings against Crystal Palace, Brighton and Spurs.

Home form has been a thorn in the Toffees’ side, but away from home they’ve lost just three of 15 league games this term, producing an impressive W7-D3-L1 record since late November – with that sole defeat coming against Thomas Tuchel’s much-improved Chelsea.

Arsenal And Everton To Draw

Arsenal will also have one eye on their Europa League clash with Villarreal with the league a lost cause for them, so the visitors certainly appear to hold better value for this clash.

Arsenal may have won this exact fixture in each of the past six seasons, though including meetings at Goodison Park, they’ve only emerged victorious in one of the past four head to heads as Everton won the reverse fixture this term back in December.

Both sides have absentees ahead of this clash. The Gunners may have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back fit enough for the bench after recovering from malaria, which is just as well given Alexandre Lacazette has injured his hamstring.

However, Mikel Arteta will have to continue without Kieran Tierney and David Luiz at the back, while Martin Odegaard remains a major doubt with an ankle complaint.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin should return for Everton, though like with Aubameyang for the hosts, the England international may have to be content with a place on the bench depending on his fitness.

Abdoulaye Doucoure remains sidelined, while, Fabian Delph, Bernard and Yerry Mina are all doubts, so both sides should be stripped of some of their offensive capabilities.

In a game that could fail to ignite, the draw looks the best option. It’s landed in three of Arsenal’s last six league games, as well as each of Everton’s past three, and with a lack of potential lack of firepower on display, the scores should be kept down.
