A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace salvaged the Gunners a stalemate away at Norwich as the first result of the post-Emery era.
However, it was hardly impressive and was the second time in a week where they’ve had to come from behind against lowly opponents to rescue a point, having done so hosting Southampton the previous weekend.
They now face another bottom-six outfit in the shape of Brighton, who caused them problems last term as they drew both encounters 1-1.
Those recent results mean that across all competitions, Arsenal have drawn six of eight winless matches over 90 minutes, including four of five in the league alone.
Both teams have found the net in eight of the Gunners’ last nine fixtures overall, as the exception came on the road as Leicester (who hold the best defensive record in the division) kept their attack at bay.
Even the likes of Vitoria Guimaraes scored in both clashes, as Southampton, Frankfurt and Norwich have all put two past them in each of their last three outings.
Brighton should feel confident of registering at some stage then given they’ve found the net in six of their last seven matches, as they too failed to net against the Foxes.
They even put three past Spurs at the Amex and although their last three games have all ended in defeat, in addition to facing Brendan Rodgers’ men they also took on Man Utd and Liverpool.
Although Arsenal are a team in dire straits, we wouldn’t be at all confident of backing the visitors to pick up any points. Brighton have been notoriously bad travellers in the Premier League, picking up just 28 points on the road since their promotion, compared with 63 on home turf.
They’ve lost over twice as many games away from the Amex during this time, including 15 of 16 winless trips to ‘Big Six’ outfits.

Given that Brighton don’t appear capable of turning in an impressive performance on the road, losing five of six winless away matches this term since an opening day victory over a dismal Watford side, it’s hard to look past the inevitability of the home win.
For all their troubles, Arsenal are still unbeaten at the Emirates domestically this term, though it’s noticeable that each of the Gunners’ four league victories home or away have come by the single goal margin.

The Seagulls have scored exactly once in each of their past three road trips, and given that they’ve netted more than that in just one of their last 11 away games since April, we wouldn’t expect them to exceed that tally here, even if the Gunners have been woeful at the back.
However, seeing as we expect this to be a tight encounter, while Brighton have gone down 2-1 in two of their past three on their travels, the correct score holds some appeal against an Arsenal side that have only once scored more than twice from their 14 league matches this term.
