After back-to-back defeats to Rangers and Milan, each by two-goal margins, Celtic could have done without a trip to third-placed Aberdeen.
However, Neil Lennon’s side do hold an excellent recent record against the Dons, winning eight of nine meetings in all competitions over the past two campaigns.
They kept six clean sheets across these matches and scored at least twice themselves in six of the last seven, while the Hoops have quite often bounced back domestically after disappointment in Europe.
It’s worth noting that the Milan team they just lost to have now won 16 of 21 unbeaten matches since the resumption of football in June, including nine of the past 10.
They’re simply a cut above any team in Scotland and when excluding Old Firm derbies, Celtic are W49-D6-L1 in the league dating back into December 2018, as 31 of the 56 games saw them win to nil.

Aberdeen will provide a challenge as they’ve gone W7-D1-L1 since an opening day loss to Rangers, but with five of those victories coming by one-goal margins, it’s hard to see them keeping up with the Old Firm duo for long.
The hosts will make Celtic sweat more than most though and they’ve gone in level at the break in five of seven league meetings over the past two seasons, with four of these seeing Draw/Celtic land in the half-time/full-time market.
The Hoops are unsurprisingly quicker of the mark on home turf, where they’ve led in 12 of 15 league matches, as the exceptions came against Rangers (twice) and Aberdeen themselves.
Neil Lennon’s outfit have drawn the first half in five of their last seven on their travels, while away to top-five outfits, they’ve been W6-D7-L3 at that point since 2018/19.
Odsonne Edouard will still be sidelined for this difficult away trip having already missed the last two games against Rangers and Milan.
Any team would find it difficult in the absence of the league’s best player, but Lennon will have been left largely unimpressed by the contributions of Leigh Griffiths, Patryk Klimala and Albian Ajeti.

Celtic have only scored more than twice in one of 11 away matches in all competitions since mid-February, so we wouldn’t expect them to rack up the goals at Pittodrie. All but one of their eight victories over this period saw them triumph by 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 scorelines, and with the last two head to heads finishing 2-1 to Celtic, the multibet looks to cover the angles for Celtic to grind out a win.
