In an exclusive interview with Genting Casino, Vladimir Shishkin, who has trained with YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul, has said he believes the viral star has the ability to be a world champion.
He said: “This is my third camp with Jake and every camp I've spent with him he's made progress and he's learned a lot. He's being taught the Kronk style of boxing. Kronk is all about high level boxing skills, Kronk is a science, it's an art, it's attacking, it's about knockouts.
“Jake is following in the footsteps of many great fighters who also learned the Kronk style. He's following in the footsteps of Tommy Hearns, Lennox Lewis and Tyson Fury. Kronk made them into champions, and like those men, I believe Jake Paul will win a world title one day as well.
“He's already training like a world champion; he's got a hard punch, good speed and good understanding of distance. It's not just his physicality, he's also a very smart fighter and he will show that he's a level above Mike Perry on Saturday night.
“Perry is nothing more than a warm-up fight before Jake faces Mike Tyson. I know Perry is a tough guy, but he won't make it out of the second round. From what I've seen from Jake Paul in the gym, the knockout will come in the first or second round, he's very heavy handed.
“Once he knocks out Perry I really believe he will then knock out Mike Tyson because Tyson won't have timing or distance and also because of his age. Jake already has the plan to beat Tyson and he's ready. We are no longer in Mike Tyson's generation, Jake Paul is the new generation of fighters who can box but also understand business.”
